I found myself in a similar situation. I am a new homeowner for a little over a year and had a perfectly good 720p projector I had been using as a TV/Gaming display since moving in. This setup worked, though presented two problems: I had trouble trying to decorate and furnish my living room “around” the projector, and couldn’t watch/play during the day.
With all the recent news about the studios starting to choose sides in the HD-DVD and Blu Ray format war, I decided to see what was new on the 1080P front. One thing led to another, and I had settled on the LN-T4661F… if I had the funds to pay for it that is.
Well, I did have the funds, but I wasn’t really wanting to part with it since I had a “perfectly good setup”. I think what finally caused me to buy it was that I was actually able to imagine my living room as done. if I ignored the projector. Since then I haven’t regretted buying the display, it’s very clear and bright, and it has very deep and dark blacks – very easy to set up as well. Keep in mind that Samsung just came out with a couple of newer model 46″ LCDs… :-D
